my oil expeller....

A sustainable way of running your diesel engine.

my oil expeller....

Just a brief outline of what I intend to do here. I have purchased a Chinese made screw type oil press and intend to couple it to a 12HP diesel motor for the production of vegetable oil. The press is capable of pressing 2 ton of seed per day. More information can be found on the main site. (http://www.sarariver.com/index.php?Depa ... 4&PageNo=1) If anyone has any experience with or ideas about running diesel engines on vegetable oil and/or bio-diesel I would love to hear from you. This fuel will become very viable in the future. Also I intend one day to get another vehicle, perhaps an old Landcruiser and run that on straight vegetable oil. Exciting stuff.....

Graham,

NSW DPI has an article about farmers growing their own..
http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/archive/agric ... r-own-fuel follow the links to bedibodiesel and through to Wimmera Biodiesel.

It looks as though mustard is a good source, and it grows like buggery up here. Diesel is now dear enough to make this viable - give me a ring when you get home - we are 27 here..

Cheers,

Hi John,

Good article about biodiesel John.

I am in NZ at the moment and expect to return home very soon, probably tomorrow.
