Diesel power....

A cheaper alternative from India

Diesel power....

Postby graham » Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:21 am

In part of our power systems at home I have purchased a Listeroid diesel engine to run my alternator. These are made in India and are a Lister copy or clone. They are almost identical to the Lister CS engine designed and built in the !930's in the UK. They run at 650 rpm and have proven very reliable, with reports of these engines lasting well over 50 years. This will also be presented as a project in the near future.

graham is it a single cylinder kachunka kachunka kachunka kinda engine?

my experience with Listers is, you can't go wrong with them, they are ultra reliable and very simple to maintain.......i can easy see how 50 years service would be possible. if this clone is 1/2 as good, you are on to a winner..... 8)

Edit: i just looked at the pictures and see that it is......you lucky duck!!! 8)

Diesels now almost running.....

Postby graham » Tue Aug 28, 2007 5:46 pm

Had a busy week this week. We have started to get Kim and Mauzi's Listeroid running and mine is already running. I have written an article about what I found in preparing the 12/2 to run, and now we are doing the 6/1. Check out the main site for an update.

Hi Wiltipoll,

I bought mine from Warne Power in South Queensland. He has a website http://www.warnepower.com, but he does not import them any more.

I will do a bit of research and get back to you. Mine was made by JKSON and imported from India.
