New batteries....

Postby graham » Sat Sep 01, 2007 7:09 pm

We are nearly ready to install our large 600 Amp/Hour batteries. They are ex Telstra Exide units at 2 volts per cell and each weighs about 50Kg.

As Mauzi's power shed is nearly finished we will install her's first......

I also just realised that a download link to a very old but useful book on battery care written in the 1920's, was not working. It is fixed now. This book even though nearly 80 year old is still very applicable to Lead Acid wet cell batteries. If you are interested you can down load it in PDF format below, but it is a very large file, about 10Mb, so without a fast system (like me :( ), it would take a long time to download.

More on this later......

Yep Graham, Good stuff. All working well. Have to say it has been great all working together on these projects. That is the advantage of a village mentality I think. If this project had waited for us to learn enough to do it, think it might have been a while in the coming  For those that are interested, Graham will be writing up all sorts of stuff on these projects so that others can gain the knowledge or have the capacity to ask questions - short cut - so to speak. :D
